摘    要:<正> The multiple-scattering theory has been apower ful tool in determining the effectire physical propertiesof inhomogeneous media.This paper is concerned with thedescription of the effective mechanical behavior ofinhomogeneous media in the unified framework of themultiple-scattering theory.The multiple-scattering theoryhas been developed in this work to describe the thermoelastic,viscoelastic and elastoplastic behavior of inhomogeneousmedia.Two approximate solutions to this unified theory forthese mechanical properties,namely average t-matrix andcoherent-ptential(self-consistent effective-medium)approximations,have been given.Those well-known resultsin the literature are contained in these two solutions.Thecomparison between theoretical predictions and experimentsfor the elastoplastic behavior of ductile-matrix compositesreinforced with hard spheres is finally discussed.
