摘    要：本文从应用的角度提出一个多媒介数据库系统的功能设计原型。文章首先对经典的面向对象的方法进行了扩充使之适应于多媒介信息系统环境的要求。在此基础上,针对很大一类应用环境定义了一组内容寻址的基本模式和一组施于对象的基本操作,并设计了一个肖像型的视觉化用户接口。

Abstract: From the viewpoint of application, a design prototype on functions of multime- dia database systems is proposed in this paper. To meet the requirements in the environment of multimedia information system, the classical object-oriented paradigm is extended. Then a number of basic schemata of content addressibility and a set of fundamental operations on objects are defined for a variety of application environments. Finally, an icons-based user interface is planned.
