摘    要:<正> A certain strength is required for thewindow glasses in tall buildings due to the high windpressure.The strength for large size glasses is gener-ally deduced from the testing results of specimens withsamll sizes by the Weibull statistics theory.By a greatdeal of experiments the authors have studied the thick-ness,span and width effects of flat glasses of onbending strength under biaxial stresses.Compared withthe Weibull theory,the accuracy of strength is deter-mined and a modification is made for the volume ef-fect proposed by Weibull.The size effect of Weibullmodulus is investigated as well and the reasonable spec-ification for flat glass strength is suggested.
