拉锥球透镜光纤和柱状楔形透镜光纤与 半导体激光器耦合的比较研究

摘    要:分析光通信领域光发射次模块中拉锥球透镜光纤和柱状楔形透镜光纤与半导体激光器耦合的技术,建立这2种透镜光纤与半导体激光器耦合的模型。通过数学推导与软件仿真,得到出射波长为1 310 nm,平行结平面与垂直结平面发散角分别为13.00°与38.27°的双异质结激光器与这2种透镜光纤耦合时的耦合效率及多种对准误差的容忍度。同时,将这2种耦合方式的耦合效率、微透镜加工精度要求、纵向间隙与横向偏移容忍度、角度偏差容忍度以及同时存在有横向偏移与角度偏差时的容忍范围进行比较。研究结果表明:柱状楔形透镜耦合效率最大值达96.09%,远高于拉锥球透镜的耦合效率,而与柱状楔形透镜相比,拉锥球透镜在容忍度方面没有显著的优势,总体上,柱状楔形透镜光纤在与半导体激光器耦合中较拉锥球透镜光纤有更好的表现。

Abstract: The technology of the spherical lensed fiber and the cylindrical lensed fiber for coupling to a laser diode in the transmitter optical subassembly of the optical fiber communication was analyzed, and the coupling models were established. Through mathematical derivation and simulation software, coupling efficiency and alignment tolerances were obtained by using the data of 1 310 nm double heterojunction laser diode with a far-field divergence of 13.00° and 38.27°, lateral and vertical respectively. Meanwhile, the two coupling methods were compared, including the coupling efficiency, fabrication precision of microlens, axial and lateral offset tolerance, angle deviation tolerance, and the allowed range when both lateral offset and angle deviation were present. The results show that the cylindrical lensed fiber allows a coupling efficiency up to 96.09%, which is considerably higher than the spherical lensed fiber. On the other hand, the spherical lensed fiber has no considerable advantage over the cylindrical lensed fiber in precision requirement. In general, the cylindrical lensed fiber has better performance in the coupling to a laser diode.
