摘 要:<正> Based mainly on the work done at the authors’laboratory in recent years,this paper examines whatis currently known about the cyclic deformationand fatigue properties of metal matrix composites,with particular emphasis on discontinuous fiber(whisker or particulate)-reinforced Al composites.The following items are discussed:fatigue strengthand life,cyclic deformation and microstructuralevolution,microcrack initiation and growth,fatiguecrack propagation behaviour.
