摘 要:本文根据地球生物界发展的阶段性、古地磁学和古冰川学等方面的资料,并着眼于寻求能同时反映劳亚陆块和冈瓦纳陆块重大地史发展阶段的全球统一界线,论证了以Montiparus(或Obsoletes)带之底作为石炭-二叠系界线的合理性。
Abstract: The writer maintains that the chronostratigraphic boundary of "system" level ought to be a natural boundary reflecting an important development stage of the earth. If not, stratigraphy will lose its scientific value in a great measure. After the shortages of other various boundaries e. g., the bottoms of the Asselian stage and the Sakmarian stage, etc.) have been pointed out, the rationality of the bottom of Montiparus (or Obsoletes) zone as the Carboniferous-Permian boundary has been proved in this paper. The principal arguments are as follows. 1. It corresponds to a major development stage of organic world including fusulinids, ammonoides, conodonts, sporo-pollen, brachiopods, etc. 2. It coincides with the major reversal epoch of geomagnetic polarity at 295 Ma. 3. It coincides with the beginning of Late Paleozoic glacial age in Gondwanaland. So it is an ideal all-global united Carboniferous-Permian boundary reflecting simultaneously a great development stage of geohistory in both Laurasia and Gondwana continental blocks.
