Abstract: In order to evaluate the stability of polylaminate goafs accurately and considering that numerical simulation has some kinds of limitation and there are many factors influencing the stability of them, a comprehensive evaluation method that includes numerical simulation (about bulk analysis) and multi-stage fuzzy judgment (about single analysis) was created. Firstly, taking a real engineering as an example, the three-dimensional numerical model including ore body and polylaminate goafs was established. The stress distribution, plastic zone and the displacement at the midpoint of roof in the model were studied by using FLAC3D software. Then, the stability of single mine gob area was evaluated with multi-stage fuzzy judgment. At last, an accurate stability classification was acquired by contrasting and analyzing the similarities and differences of the research findings from the two methods. The research shows that No.1, No.2 and No.11 goafs are unstable and 9 goafs such as No.13 are less stable. The results obtained with the comprehensive evaluation method reflect that the stable degree of polylaminate goafs is better. The method has high precision, and is practicable and feasible. It presents a practical approach for stability analysis of polylaminate goafs.
