PRINCIPLE AND PROCESS OF SURFACE DENATURATION OF FLY ASH

摘 要：<正> To turn the fly ash from a solepozzolan to a cementing material,a newmethod of treating fly ash is presented inthis paper,i,e,heating the mixture offly ash,limestone powder at 960℃ in thepresence of mineralizers CaX2-CaSO4.Newlyformed lime is combined with fly ash anda coating forms on the fly ash surface.XRD and SEM analyses indicate that thiscoating is mainly composed of tiny β-C2Sand C11A7CaX2.Since treated fly ashkeeps Shape,fineness and grading oforiginal fly ash but has a cementitiouscoating,it can function both as a binderand as a pozzolan.It is considered byauthor as a denaturated fly ash （DFA）.This paper describes principle andprocess of surface denaturation of flyash,structural characteristics of DFAand its hydraulicity.
