Study on Adsorption of Fluoride Ion by Using Metal(Ⅲ)-Loaded Amberlite IR124 Resin

摘 要:The adsorbents, an amberlite-type cation exchange resin, as IR124 resin, which is chemically modified by trivalent metal ions such as lanthanum(Ⅲ), cerium(Ⅲ), yttrium(Ⅲ), iron(Ⅲ) and aluminum(Ⅲ), were used to remove fluoride ion. The optimum conditions for loading metal ions on IR124 resin and the effect of pH and initial concentration of fluoride solution on the removal of fluoride were investigated in this study. Experimental results show that Ce(Ⅲ)-loaded and Y(Ⅲ)-loaded IR124 resins are found to adsorb fluoride rapidly and effectively. The adsorption capacity of fluoride ion for different metal(Ⅲ)-loaded IR124 resin is in the order of Ce(Ⅲ)>Y(Ⅲ)>La(Ⅲ)>Fe(Ⅲ)≈Al(Ⅲ). The maximum uptake of fluoride ion by Ce(Ⅲ)-loaded IR124 resin is 0.95 mol·kg-1.
