Abstract: Utilizing the technique of electrolysis with reverse current, sodium tungsten bronze (Na_xWO_3) crystals were prepared from a molten mixture of sodium tungstate (Na_2WO_4 ) and tungstic trioxide (WO_3) at 800℃. Crystal structure, lattice parameter, and sodium content were determined by X-ray powder diffraction. SEM analysis indicated that intermingling of molten salt in crystal caused by electrolysis with direct current was avoided using electrolysis with reverse current. Large crystals with high quality were obtained.
