Abstract: Fe3Al nanoparticle toughening Al2O3 matrix composites are fabricated by hot pressing. The effect of hot-pressed temperature and nano-Fe3Al contents on the densifications, mechanical properties and microstructure were researched. The results show that addition of nano-Fe3Al inhibites the growth of Al2O3, therefore the sintered temperature is increased. Fe3Al/Al2O3 nanocomposites exhibit attractive mechanical properties. The best values of bending strength and fracture toughness of the composite are 832MPa and 7.96MPa·m1/2, respectively.
